DavidDavid W. Dunlap wrote and photographed Building Provincetown (2015), in collaboration with many dozens of town residents. He also wrote the text of the Historic Provincetown Walking Tour map, which is to be reissued and updated in 2016. For his day job, he covers architecture and design, infrastructure, landmarks, and urban history for The New York Times. He is the author and photographer of From Abyssinian to Zion: A Guide to Manhattan’s Houses of Worship (2004) and On Broadway: A Journey Uptown over Time (1990). He lives in Manhattan with his husband, Scott Bane, but they try to spend as much time in Provincetown as they possibly can.
