For the first time in its history, the Provincetown Public Library is hosting a weekend of literary events for readers, writers, and book lovers of all kinds.

The First Provincetown Book Festival will take place Friday and Saturday, September 16 and 17, at the Provincetown Public Library.

Jamaican-born novelist Nicole Dennis-Benn, non-fiction writer Eric Jay Dolin, and 2016 Guggenheim Fellow Paul Lisicky will speak at the Festival.
Other featured authors include Alexander Chee, Sally Cabot Gunning, and Tim Murphy.

Book lovers attending the Provincetown Book Festival can enjoy author presentations throughout the day, capped by a Friday night reception to honor the recipient of the second Rose Dorothea Award, Provincetown author Josephine Del Deo.  All events are open to the public; all daytime events are free. All events will take place at the Provincetown Public Library, located at 356 Commercial Street. On Saturday, dozens of authors will be signing their books on the lawn outside the library during the day.

Authors and small presses interested in participating in these events under the tent should contact Nan Cinnater, Lead Librarian, at the Provincetown Public Library.

A full finalized schedule of all Festival participants and events will be released at a later date.
